CapitalGunOwners.org was launched on August 4th, 2008 by four residents of Washington DC who have long planned for the day when the District of Columbia Government would be forced to allow its law-abiding citizens to fully exercise their constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights as all free Americans.  Although it took 32 years for the issue to be heard by the United States Supreme Court, on June 26, 2008, in a 5 - 4 decision, they ruled once and for all that the Second Amendment guarantees the rights of the individual.
